Romulus Man Arrested for Forcible Touching at Fingerlakes Mall

On 1/30/10 SP Auburn Patrol was dispatched to the Fingerlakes Mall for a complaint that a male subject had inappropriately touched a female shopper. Arrested was Thomas E. Tyman Jr, age 35 of  County Route 129, Romulus he was charged with the misdemeanor of Forcible Touching. He was given an appearance ticket to appear in Aurelius Town Court on 2/03/10.

SP Moravia Arrests Man for Shoplifting in Town of Fleming

On 1/29/10 SP Moravia Patrol was dispatched to the Expressmart in Fleming for a shoplifting complaint. Brandon L. Crawford, age 18 of  Brogan Manor, Auburn was charged with Petit Larceny. Crawford is to appear in Fleming Town Court on 2/09/10.

Tully man arrested for possessing counterfeit currency

( Tully, NY – January 30, 2010) - State Police in SP LaFayette arrested 20 year-old, Thomas A. LaForce of  Marybelle Road, Town of Preble, Cortland County for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the First Degree, a class “C” Felony. On 01/29/10 at approximately 9:38PM, the said defendant did attempt to pay for an item at the Nice N Easy located at 5755 ST-80 in the Town of Tully using a counterfeit $100.00 bill. The said defendant did know that the $100 bill was counterfeit prior to giving the bill to the clerk. The said defendant was arraigned in the Town Of Tully court and remanded to the Onondaga County Justice Center on $1,000 cash or bond. The said defendant to reappear in the Town of Tully Court on 02/02/10 at 6:00PM.

Early Morning Accident in Greenwood Results in Two Hornell Women Facing Charges

Steuben County Sheriff’s Office reports being dispatched to a motor vehicle accident this morning at approximately 7:45 am near the Lamphier Farm on State Route 248 in Greenwood. 911 received a call from a homeowner that a green passenger car had hit a tree in her front yard and was in a field. Upon the Deputies arrival there was no one around the vehicle. The investigation done by deputies on scene determined the vehicle traveled approximately 600 feet through a field before hitting the tree just shy of the caller’s house. There was some property damage done to the callers yard. Upon further investigation deputies were able to determine who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident, Danielle M. Alexin, 20, McDougall Avenue in Hornell. The passenger of the vehicle was Samantha A Dellapenna, 19 of Moss Hill Road in Hornell. Ms. Alexin was issued tickets for leaving the scene of a Property Damage Accident, Open Container, Speed not reasonable and prudent, failure to keep right and Possession of Alcohol under the age of 21. Ms. Dellapenna was issued tickets for open container, possession of Alcohol under the age of 21 and an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marihuana. Both ladies are due in Greenwood Court at a later date to answer the charges. There were no injuries to either party from this accident. Greenwood Fire & Ems, and Hubertus Towing assisted deputies on the scene.

Woodhull Fugitive Apprehended After Chase Through Pennsylvania

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Woodhull Resident. Shannon “Shag” L. Brockway, age 40, of County Route 101 was extradited back to New York State yesterday from the Tioga County Prison in Wellsboro PA. Mr. Brockway was wanted in New York on a Steuben County Court Bench Warrant regarding a guilty plea to attempted Burglary in the Second Degree and Felony Driving While Intoxicated. For the last couple of months the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office had been trying to look for Mr. Brockway at several locations in the Woodhull, Addison, Tuscarora and Corning area due to information that he was back in New York. Information was obtained during the investigation that Mr. Brockway was at times in the state of Pennsylvania and other unknown southern states. Pennsylvania authorities were contacted and a brief encounter occurred on December 16 2009 in Osceola Township, Pa. Mr. Brockway was confronted by Osceola and Elkland Bourgh Police and resisted arrest. Mr. Brockway eluded police by wading across the nearby river in at least waist to chest high water. Mr. Brockway then entered a nearby wooded area to elude capture. A Pennsylvania State Police helicopter was also called in to assist in the search. Nelson Police, and several other Pennsylvania Police Departments, in Nelson Township in a residence there, captured Mr. Brockway on January 18, 2010. Mr. Brockway was then remanded to the Tioga County Jail on Osceola’s several charges that included resisting arrest. Mr. Brockway is wanted by the Bath Police Department on an arrest warrant for an assault charge. Mr. Brockway is also wanted by the Elmira Police Department on a Bench Warrant Regarding an Aggravated Unlicensed Operation Charge. Mr. Brockway will appear in Steuben County Court on February 1st, 2010.
