Williamsville Resident Denied Alcohol Sale Just Prior to Aggravated DWI Arrest

Clarence based Troopers arrested TIMOTHY J. MILLER, age 43, of Williamsville Friday afternoon on a charge of Aggravated DWI after being alerted by a local liquor store clerk. The clerk contacted Troopers after refusing to sell alcohol to MILLER who appeared to be highly intoxicated. Troopers were provided with a license plate number, vehicle description and direction of travel which allowed for MILLER’S quick apprehension on Palmdale Road in the Town of Amherst. MILLER was processed at the Clarence Station where a breath test revealed his blood alcohol content (BAC) to be .36%, more than 4 times the legal limit, a level which could cause serious medical complications. MILLER was transported to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital for evaluation and observation. MILLER is scheduled to answer the charge in Amherst Town Court on 5/10/10 Troopers credit the liquor store clerk with taking immediate action which aided in removing a dangerous driver from our highways.

Jasper Resident Facing Petit Larceny

The Steuben County Sheriff's Office reports the arrest of a Jasper resident today for one count of Petit Larceny a class A misdemeanor.

SP Albion Arrests Women for Grand Larceny In the 3rd Degree

The New York State Police in Albion, NY have arrested 50 year old Cynthia L. Janus of 2801 Oak Orchard Rd., Albion, NY charged with Grand larceny in the 3rd degree. The charges were based on funds stolen by Janus from the Carlton Volunteer Fire Department. An audit of the department’s financial records indicated that approximately $27,000.00 was unaccounted for between September of 2005 and August of 2009. The investigation determined that the funds were embezzled by Janus through her appointed position of operating the department’s recreation hall and bar. Janus was a member of the Carlton Volunteer Fire Department at that time. Janus was arraigned in the Town of Carlton Court and was released on her own recognizance. Janus is scheduled to appear back in the Town of Carlton Court on 06/07/10, at 6:30 pm for further proceedings.

Airman Gabriel Ayala-Vega graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base

Air Force Airman Gabriel Ayala-Vega graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Ayala-Vega is the son of Carmen Vega of Ramona St., Rochester, N.Y. The airman is a 2009 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Rochester.

Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Courtney M. Wellington II graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of Leslie Parker of Gardiner Ave., and grandson of Ellen Williams of Lakeview Terrace, both of Rochester, N.Y. Wellington is a 2005 graduate of John Marshall High School, Rochester.
