Attempted prison contraband arrest
DATE AND TIME OF ARREST: 02/06/12 1410 Hrs
Philip E. Modelle, age 28, of Plattsburgh NY, was arrested after he attempted to gain possession of prison contraband. Through the course of the investigation and the arrest of the defendant’s codefendant, Edward V. Ackey, it was determined that Ackey and Modelle conspired together to smuggle contraband into the correctional facility. It was determined that Ackey was going to supply Modelle with marihuana by attempting to conceal the marihuana within articles of clothing that Ackey had brought to the correctional facility for Modelle. The marihuana was discovered by Corrections Officers during the search of the belongings that Ackey was going to supply Modelle with.
The defendant was processed, and released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Plattsburgh Court at a later date.
CHARGES: Attempted Promoting prison contraband in the second degree (B-Misd), Attempted Possession of prison contraband in the second degree (B-Misd) and Conspiracy in the sixth degree (B-Misd)
