Bath woman charged with welfare fraud

The Steuben County Sheriffs Office reports the arrest of Linda A. Trescott, 54, of Colonial Lawns in the Village of Bath for Welfare Fraud in the Fourth Degree a class E Felony at approximately 1:20 PM in the Town of Bath. Trescott allegedly defrauded the Department of Social Services out of an undisclosed amount of money. Ms. Trescott was arraigned in the Bath Village Court and- was released on her own recognizance. Ms. Trescott Will reappear in the Bath Village Court on February 3, 2012 to answer the charge. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Department of Social Services.
