The only way to stop people from driving like this is to crush their cars like california does for street racers. No matter who owned them, let fools like this drive your car , crush time at the junk yard!

Would it not be better for these folks to ue all that energy to get a real life? Go to college--be honest and make more money than they could doing this stuff? Some people watch too much TV and want to be a big mafioso--be careful what you wish for. The lesson is simple--crime does not pay--is not a good option and death and misery are the rewards. I hope they all rot. Young people should take note: stay on the straight road--always the straight road.

I was the person who hydroplaned over that pole and ended up lying next to him at Strong. I had no idea anyone was involved, let alone drunk in this accident. Imagine laying there as he is read his rights and your entire body is strapped to a stretcher. I was placed in a situation where I had no control over my body because of him. Because of his poor choices, I was poked and prodded at for 3 hours as he snored off the alcohol. I can be angry but I'm not because I believe in second chances. Hopefully, he understands that not only did he put others at risk but my family had to endure this too.

$10K bail for pot....it's POT, not cocaine or heroin. If you're a member of law enforcement reading this, please don't try to tell me that pot is just another gateway drug. That's crap.

Marijuana laws in NY state are arcane. Marijuana laws should parallel alcohol laws and people should be allowed to grow whatever they want, just like they can brew/distill whatever they want.

Even Obama admitted to smoking pot: "yeah, I smoked pot, lots of it and I inhaled. That was the whole idea!" Clinton: " Now you listen to me, I only took a puff but I did not inhale...or have sexual relations with that cigar humidifier."

I agree with your sentiments, Carl. Police are exempt from cell phone and seat belt laws, though. Their claim is that they need the cell phones for police business and if they have to exit their vehicle quickly, they can't be encumbered bu a seat belt.

I guess using a cell phone (hand held like the police do) for my business (while driving) and scoring another contract deal isn't at par with police business.

I routinely see police speeding for no apparent reason, talking on cell phones, changing lanes without signaling, tailgating, not using headlights when their wipers are being used..etc. They definitely run by the rules my parents laid down for me all those years ago: "Do as we say, not as we do!"

Sometimes they get things right but from my experience, they usually are just unreasonable, selfish, unbending, unfair and hypocritical. I suppose they can develop a chip on their shoulder from years of dealing with real scumbags but they often carry that chip to the car door of decent, law abiding citizens.

My mama always told me, if you can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen. I extend that same advise to the police. If they can't handle the stress of the job and can't differentiate between common criminals and someone who inadvertently committed some minor traffic infraction, they should step down and take up fishing. I heard the bullheads are biting really well.

How many were issued to sheriffs, town or city police officers or Troopers? I Saw 3 local police cars today in my travels...all were driving while talking on cell phones.
Just an observation....

If he's guilty, thanks for doing taxpayers a favor. All murderers should punish themselves accordingly.

Are the cops going to ticket other cops for using their phone while on duty? I see cops driving and talking on a cell phone at the same time quite often. Yes, I know they're exempt from the cell phone laws but I don't believe that every call they make while on duty is for "police business" only.
