Fatal Car Crash in the Town of Brownville

53 year old Glen Park man killed in crash

 


(Watertown, NY – February 6, 2012) – State Police in Watertown are investigating a one vehicle fatal crash which occurred on Military Road in the Town of Brownville.
At approximately 7:10 AM, Captain Darrin S. Pitkin, the SP Watertown Zone Commander discovered a 2004 Ford Mustang approximately twenty feet off the shoulder of County Route 53 (Military Road), and into a wooded area. The victim, identified as Albert M. Buker, age 53 of 23371 White Rd. Glen Park, was located several feet away from the vehicle, deceased.
The initial investigation indicates that the vehicle was traveling northeast on Military Rd., when the right tires went off onto the shoulder. It appears that the driver over corrected and slid sideways across Military Rd., and forcefully struck a tree, ejecting the operator. The exact time of the crash has not been determined, however a local neighbor reports that she was awakened at approximately 12:45 AM by an unknown noise. This neighbor did not see any evidence of a car crash at that time.
The investigation is continuing, and an autopsy will be conducted by the Jefferson County Medical Examiners Office. The State Police were assisted at the scene by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.
