911 call leads to DWI charges on a Pleasant Valley man

On Friday, July 30th at about 5:00pm, Dutchess County 911 received a call in regards to a maroon pickup truck operating in an erratic manor on Route 55 near the Apple Valley Plaza in the Town of LaGrange. The pickup was located by Troopers in the Plaza parking lot with the operator, identified as 50 year old Steven E. Rugar of Pleasant Valley, still behind the wheel. Field sobriety tests determined Rugar to be intoxicated by alcohol. A breath test determined Rugar's BAC to be .25%, over three times the legal limit. Rugar was charged with Aggravated DWI and is to appear in the LaGrange Town Court on August 10th at 4:00pm.
