Holland man arrested for DWI

On July 30, 2010, at approximately 7:00pm, State Police in Holland arrested James J. Preston, 25, of Holland for Driving While Intoxicated following a traffic stop on Center Street in the Town of Colden. Mr. Preston was stopped for failing to wear his seatbelt and found to have been drinking prior to driving his car. After failing several Field Sobriety Tests he was placed under arrest for DWI and transported to SP Holland where it was determined that he had a .08% Blood Alcohol Concentration. In addition to DWI, Mr. Preston was charged with: Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st, a felony in the Vehicular and Traffic Law, due to the fact that he was driving his car while intoxicated while his driver’s license was suspended for a previous alcohol related offense; failing to wear his seatbelt, excessive tint on his vehicle’s windows, and drinking alcohol while driving a motor vehicle. Mr. Preston was arraigned in the Town of Holland Court and released, to re-appear at a later date.
