TAP America Urges Citizens to Purchase Domestically Made Goods, Experiential Gifts for Upcoming Holidays

SEATTLE, WA–(Marketwire – May 9, 2012) – TAP America, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening America and its citizens, today announced that it is urging all Americans to give gifts made in the U.S.A. for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day this year. TAP America is asking for American citizens to buy American, to give service-oriented gifts, and to boycott products made in China, thereby sending a message to corporations and manufacturers that people value American workers, jobs and innovation.

Researching China’s Influence Over America

According to TAP America Founder Mark Bloome, “Next year China’s government plans to take even more jobs away from America because they need to create 25 million new jobs in China. I believe the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) uses any means possible to take American jobs and weaken our country with tactics including: cyber theft of intellectual property, subsides of their industries to put ours out of business, and currency manipulation where they make their currency cheap to undersell American businesses. The CCP uses their authoritarian government to then invest in creating weapons that may be used against our country in the future. We at TAP America encourage all citizens to take the first step to making our country strong by buying American and boycotting China this Mother’s and Father’s Day.”

TAP America urges people to instead give experiential and service-oriented gifts like: gym memberships, concert tickets, some rounds at the golf course, or local restaurant gift certificates. If you need to purchase a product as a gift, then try to buy American to help our economy.

TAP America recently announced their TAP Certified Merchant program to encourage stores to stock at least 20% of U.S. goods and to increase their American made inventories by just 1% per month. As incentive, businesses who sign up are featured in news articles, included in the TAP online business directory, and are featured in a Groupon-like service called AmeriCoupon that helps people find deals on products made in America.

Since launching in January of 2011, TAP has created national awareness campaigns aimed at promoting tolerance, encouraging people to stay physically active, and to purchase products made in America. Made in the USA Patio Furniture in High Demand at FurnitureForPatio.com

As the patio furniture buying season gets underway, Furniture for Patio is seeing a common trend for customers who request outdoor furniture that is made in the USA. Believing firmly in giving the consumer what they want, FurnitureForPatio.com has expanded their product selection of U.S. manufactured furniture. Most of the U.S. patio manufacturers back their products with 15-20 year warranties, which makes selling the furniture easy for consumers who are demanding the highest quality and value for their money.

“Quality – #1 Reason customers buy patio furniture Made in the USA!”

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) April 30, 2012

In a trend report that was published in the July 2011 edition of Casual Living, American manufactured furniture and the consumer’s growing awareness of it was analyzed in detail. According to the report, more and more manufacturers and retailers have found themselves fielding questions from the consumer asking where the product was made and specifically asking for the Made in the USA tag. Reasons for this can be attributed to tough economic times, the desire to keep jobs in America, and the fact that American made has always brought with it a superior quality and long lasting durability.

A year later, it would appear that buying American wasn’t just a fad during a time when the economy was struggling. As America recovers in a post-recession age and overseas manufacturing costs increase, reports have detailed how American made furniture has become more competitive and manufacturers are offering a better product and better service that is worth the consumer’s money. Not being a company to fall behind trends, Furniture For Patio has listened to both consumer reports and the consumers themselves and is proud to announce that their selection of Made in the USA patio furniture has expanded and it will continue to do so into the foreseeable future.

Over the past year alone, the company has added three American manufacturers to their online store; Lloyd Flanders, Telescope Casual, and Homecrest whose collections include wicker, aluminum, steel, and environmentally friendly plastic furniture for the consumer’s outdoor living space. The addition of these three manufacturers comes not at random as FurnitureForPatio.com researches and tests the products they sell to make sure they will be fitting of the consumer’s wants and needs.

With Telescope Casual furniture, the consumer will see a brand that has been offering versatility and luxury in their collections since 1903; building furniture that will last from their manufacturing plant located in New York. For a more subdued luxury blended with quality and classic design, Homecrest meets the demands for affordable and high-end patio furniture and for the past sixty years has developed 30 different collections for any outdoor environment. Both Telescope Casual and Homecrest furniture feature a variety of high-quality styles across their collections, offering a freedom of choice that goes hand in hand with their Made in the USA tag.

Another part of the reason that American made furniture is high in quality is because of craftsmanship and knowledge past down from generation to generation and the consumer will find that Lloyd Flanders embodies this process in its production of quality outdoor wicker furniture. For the past 100 years, this American manufacturer has been in business providing durable, natural looking wicker furniture and has been a leader in the wicker furniture industry for years.

These top of the line manufacturers join a staple of FurnitureForPatio.com’s store which is (not surprisingly) another company sporting the Made in the USA branding. Poly-Wood Furniture was the first American manufacturer offered for sale at FurnitureForPatio.com and has been making waves with its innovative plastic lumber furniture. This high-performance furniture, which comes from recycled materials such as milk jugs, caters to another popular trend amongst consumers, the trend of “going green.”

Offering up a wider variety of American made products was an easy decision for the company as their goal to provide a convenient shopping experience for customers goes hand in hand with shorter delivery times and a long lasting guarantee that American manufacturers can promise. Working with these manufacturers allows for FurnitureForPatio.com to not only be able to offer high-quality patio furniture, but high-quality customer service as well. Since most of the manufactured furniture for sale at FurnitureForPatio.com is made in the USA, the company is able to provide quicker and more informed responses to customer service issues as they are more easily able to contact the manufacturer directly. The end result, an educated shopping experience for patio furniture the consumer can count on.

To buy American made furniture means to buy high quality, competitively priced, and beautifully crafted products. To shop for American made furniture means to visit http://www.furnitureforpatio.com; your source for outdoor living and MADE in the USA brands.

Channellock Brings Its Blue Gripped Pliers To The Made In America Store

Elma, NY (PRWEB) April 30, 2012

The Made In America Store is known for bringing its customers USA made products that carry a higher standard of quality. Channellock brings a new level of quality by manufacturing tools with American steel. The trademark blue grips give the hand tools a distinctive look, a color the company has been using since 1956.

The Made In America Store stocks a full line of pliers including Tongue & Groove Set Pliers, Snap Ring Pliers, V-Jaw Pliers, End Cutters and many more styles of pliers. Channellock also brings Wire Cutters, Ratcheting Sets and their own Rescue Tool.

Consumers interested in viewing or purchasing the whole Channellock Line offered from the Made In America Store can visit our store location in Elma, New York or visit http://www.MadeInAmericaStore.com

Channellock’s history dates all the way back to 1886 when a blacksmith from Evansburg, Pennsylvania, began hand-forging farrier’s tools. George B. DeArment sold his tools by going from town to town with his wagon filled with everything he had made. Later, his business became known as Champion Bolt & Clipper Company and in 1904, George moved to 12,000 square foot facility in Meadville, Pennsylvania. With the expansion, the business started creating nippers, pinchers and open-end wrenches. In 1911, George went into a partnership with his two sons, Almon W. and J. Howard DeArment and expanded its product line to include hammers.

In 1923, the company started to outgrow their location and decided to move to a bigger facility, (33,000 square foot) which is where the present day Channellock facility is today. Four years later, in 1927, the company changed their name to Champion-DeArment Tool Company.

The title Channellock didn’t come until 1933 when Chief Engineer Howard Manning developed the tongue-and-groove, slip-joint set of pliers, the same pliers the company is known for today. The name ‘Channellock’ was used more for a style of tool at the time.

The Champion-DeArment Tool Company finally changed their name to Channellock in 1963 when people started to associate the DeArment name with “Channellock.”

Channellock starts with a billet of high-carbon North American 1080 steel and with over 120 years of refining their methods, have created a stronger, more durable tool. The steel is then forged to take shape with air-powered die forgers. After being forged, each tool component is precisely ground, drilled, counter-bored, channeled, broached and polished to strict tolerances. Channellock then sends the unpredictable steel into a very controlled, uniform tempering system. The hand tools are then sent through a laser hardening system to further make the steel teeth and jaws more durable. Channellock then adds their renowned PermaLock fastener, which eliminates problems from traditional nut and bolt fasteners. The final step of the manufacturing procedure at Channellock is adding a rust-inhibitive solution and given a blue PVC coating that is baked onto the handles.

Heintz & Weber Co., Inc. was founded in 1922 at the Broadway Market by Joseph C. Weber and John Heintz. In 1926 Heintz was bought out by Weber in 1926 and since then has been family owned and operated. This is one of the key elements the Made In America Store looks for in a vendor and is the meaning behind “Must feed an American family.”

In the late 1930’s, Heintz & Weber Co. expanded from the Broadway Market to four different manufacturing facilities in South Buffalo. Weber started becoming a household name when over 300 different privately owned delis throughout Western New York started carrying Weber’s as their mustard. This trend in the Western New York has earned his manufacturing facilities the name of the ‘Pickle Plant’ in the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s.

At the time, Weber’s offered over 80 different products including ten varieties of pickles, along with olives, sauerkraut and prune butter. The foundation of Weber’s success was the Original Horseradish Mustard and still holds the original slogan and jingle, “A Pickle in the Middle and Weber’s on Top.”

Tradition is a keystone at the Made In America Store and consumers know this from the moment they walk into the store in Elma, New York. Weber’s also cherishes tradition by sticking to the classic yellow color in the mustard. The recipe for the Original Horseradish Mustard has been kept secret since they started and until 1980, every jar was individually packed and hand labeled.

85 years later, Weber’s Mustard is still the number one selling mustard in all of Western New York.

KanJam Hits the Shelves at the Made In America Store for the Warmer Weather to Come

KanJam is a ‘tossing disc’ game that can anyone can play. The game is not only made here in America but it’s also made locally in Western New York. In time for the warmer weather, the Made In America Store will have the KanJam set all year long.

KanJam Is A Disc Tossing Game For All Ages!

Quote startKanJam is the perfect indoor or outdoor activity and encourages exercise, improved coordination skills and friendly competition without physical contact.Quote end

Elma, New York (PRWEB) April 21, 2012

The Western New York Area is known nationally for a lot of things. Chicken wings, The Niagara Falls, the Goo Goo Dolls and now they can add KanJam to that renowned list. KanJam is easy to set up, takes very little athletic ability to play and is mobile. The Made In America Store is now an outlet that carries the KanJam game.

KanJam plays with having two teams of two people and team members stand across from each other. The game consists of one flying disc and two scoring containers with an opening on the side that serve as goals. The distance between both goals should be 50 feet and allow at least 12 feet of room on each side of the goals to allow maneuverability.

The object of the game is to reach a score of 21 without going over. Players can score points by throwing the Frisbee towards their goal or teammate and based on how the disc lands, is given a score. If the disc is assisted by the teammate and hits the side of the goal, that is one point. If the player can throw the disc and hits the goal without any assistance from the teammate, that is two points. If a player throws the disc and their teammate hits the disc into the top hole into the goal, it counts as three points. There is a slot cut into the goal on the side and if a player can throw their disc into the slot without any assistance, it is consider a game winner.

Consumers interested in watching a live-action demo on how to play with the rules and visit here.

Charles Sciandra and Mitch Rubin, the two who created the KanJam game, started back in the mid 1990’s when a few guys started throwing Frisbees at an old banged up metal garbage can for fun. When Sciandra met up with an old friend, Paul Swisher, with the idea to start the disc tossing game, both were very skeptical anything would come of their idea. With the odds against them, as only a third of one percent of all patent ideas will ever make it to the market, the two decided to make the investment into the KanJam game.

“KanJam is the perfect indoor or outdoor activity and encourages exercise, improved coordination skills and friendly competition without physical contact,” says the makers of KanJam, Charles Sciandra.

What started as something to do to pass the time turned into one of the greatest party games known to outside enthusiasts. KanJam can be seen at backyard parties, parks, playgrounds, beaches, gymnasiums, camping trips and even while tailgating. The KanJam game isn’t limited to one kind of terrain.

After a few production and patent hurdles were cleared when they added the “Instant Win” slot into the goal, the KanJam patent was passed after 13 months. After the patent had passed, Sciandra needed to find a material that was affordable, durable and it had to easily mobile. Time and time again Sciandra met with problems when he couldn’t find a material to fit what was needed until he stumbled upon a piece of linoleum in his own basement. Sciandra then realized a heavier piece of plastic like linoleum was durable, didn’t cost a lot and could easily be cut to make the KanJam

A big reason the Made In America Store had picked up the KanJam game to sell on their shelves is because all the components used to make the KanJam game are made here, in the United States. American made toys and other recreational products are few and far between. KanJam is a perfect example of how someone can start a business here in America and support the economy by manufacturing their product using American components.

Consumers interested in the KanJam game can visit http://www.MadeInAmericaStore.com and purchase this along with over 2,500 other 100% American made products.

Made in the USA Hall of Fame Nominees for 2012

April 17, 2012, 5:25 p.m. EDT

LOS ANGELES, April 17, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — The Made in the USA Foundation has announced 60 nominees for 20 awards for the Made in the USA Hall of Fame. The massive U.S. balance of payments deficit is caused by the importation of three types of products: oil, automobiles and Chinese manufactured goods. The Foundation has addressed these three areas in its 2012 nominees.

This year’s nominees feature energy-efficient vehicles, electric cars, electric motorcycles and solar panels. These categories were chosen because the importation of oil, and energy self-sufficiency, are the largest problems that America faces.

The United States leads the world in software and for the first time the Hall of Fame will include a software category. In 2011, the world experienced uprisings in many countries that would not have been possible without American software from Google, Facebook and Twitter, our three nominees in the software category.

Stereo equipment, bicycles, lighting, bathing suits, hand tools, toys and eyeglasses have been dominated by foreign, and particularly Chinese, producers. For this reason, we are featuring companies that make all of these products in the United States.

We also have started a new award to welcome home companies who are bringing production back to the United States: General Electric, Master Lock and Lincolnton Furniture.

Winners will be announced July 2, 2012 at the Made in the USA Hall of Fame Awards Dinner in Santa Monica, California. Tickets to the event are available. For more information or for tickets, call 310-MADE-USA or email Chairman@MadeUSAFdn.org.

Made In America Store Celebrates 2nd Anniversary With An All Day Event

2-Year Anniversary

The Made In America Store celebrates two years of bringing 100% American made, top quality products to consumers. To celebrate the event, there will be live performances, food vendors, book signings and a charitable bike run.

Elma, NY (PRWEB) April 10, 2012

Just two years ago, the Made in America Store in Elma, NY, opened its doors as the first store in the nation to exclusively sell American-made products. It is still the only store with the 100% American Made guarantee, making it the leader of the “Buy American” movement that has swept the country.
So, there are plenty of reasons to celebrate, which is just what owner Mark Andol, his family, staff and legions of loyal customers plan to do!

During the 2nd Anniversary Celebration, customers can shop sales tax free, while veterans and active military personnel enjoy a 10% savings on all purchases.

A very special guest will attend this year’s event. Robin Tolsma, a Flight 3407 widow and spokesperson for the families, will sign her newly published memoir, Everything Changed. It is a very personal and compelling story of the aftermath of the Flight 3407 plane crash on February 12, 2009 in Clarence Center, NY.

Everything Changed speaks poignantly from the heart of someone who lost a loved one in the plane crash. Mrs. Tolsma’s book is available for purchase at the Made in America Store, which she selected for her first public signing…in her continuing efforts to improve aviation safety for all Americans, by raising public awareness.

As with every special event at the Made in America Store, this April 28th celebration will feature family friendly attractions, including live entertainment by Nashville recording artist Ricky Lee.

Other highlights include Dale’s “Rollin’ Smoke” BBQ, Maple View Alpacas and the chainsaw artistry of Matt Hannah.

Plus, the 12th Annual Food Bank Run will kick-off at the Made in America Store, beginning with a 10am registration. And, for fans of the annual Jam in the Valley. This year’s theme is “Jammin’ for Jobs.” It’s a great opportunity to pick-up a limited supply of VIP Passes, as well as Reservation and Camping Passes.

The 2nd Anniversary Celebration is sponsored by General Welding & Fabricating, Northeast Collision and BuffaloCharities.org, sponsor of the Food Bank Run.
