Plattsburgh man charged with possession of contraband

DATE AND TIME OF ARREST02/05/12    1320 Hrs

 

The Clinton County Sheriff’s department was called to investigate an incident where it is alleged that Edward V. Ackey, age 33, of Plattsburgh NY, was in possession of contraband. The defendant, a visitor to the correctional facility attempted to smuggle in a small amount of marihuana to an inmate that he was scheduled to visit.  The search of the defendant’s property by Corrections Officers, reveled the marihuana hidden within an article of clothing.

 

 The defendant was processed, arraigned in the Town of Plattsburgh Court and remanded to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $2000 cash bail or $4000 secured bail bond.

CHARGES:  Unlawful possession of marihuana (Viol), Promoting prison contarband in the second degree (A-Misd) and Conspiracy in the sixth degree (B-Misd)
