State Police in Watertown are currently investigating a 4 car/1 tractor trailer fatal motor vehicle accident

The State Police in Watertown are currently investigating a 4 car/1 tractor trailer fatal motor vehicle accident, which occurred on State Route 11 in the Town of Philadelphia at approximately 4:50 PM. Investigation revealed that a southbound vehicle operated by 23 year old Kyle J. Simard of Starbuck Ave Watertown, NY crossed into the Northbound Lane and collided with a tractor trailer operated by Terry J Mouthorp of Madrid, NY. As a result to the first collision the tractor trailer continued across into the Southbound lane and collided head on into a vehicle being operated by 40 year old Jae M. Molner of 14197 St Rt 11 Adams Center, killing Molner. The vehicle operated by Simard continued Southbound and collided head on into northbound vehicle being operated by Phillip Hughes of Antwerp. A fourth vehicle being operated by William Carr of Herman, NY took evasive action and struck the guide rails. 3 of the operators were taken to local hospitals with non life threatening injuries. Simard was ticketed for Failing To Keep Right and was released to appear in Town of Philadelphia Court at later date. It appears driver inattention, on part of Simard, is a contributing factor to the accident.
