Pennsylvania Resident Arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs

(Barton, NY – May 16, 2012) On May 14, 2012, SP Owego Troopers arrested Billieleigh Galipeau, 41, of Athens, PA, for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle accident on Emory Chapel Road in Barton, NY.  Mrs. Galipeau was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Barton Court on May 22, 2012.

Town of Harpursville resident was arrested for DWI and other Vehicle and Traffic Offenses

On April 23, 2012 a Town of Harpursville resident was arrested for DWI and other Vehicle and Traffic Offenses

Deputy Loiselle arrested Bill J. Bowen following an investigation into a personal injury motor vehicle accident. The vehicle Bill had been driving caused damage to another persons property and then he left the scene without reporting it. Bill was arraigned in the Town of Green court and remanded on $500 cash bail to reappear in the Town of Coventry court at a later date.

Arrested – Bill J. Bowen age 42, Town of Harpursville

Charges – DWI, Leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, refusal to take a breath test, Operating while registration suspended, Operating without insurance.

All crimes described in this press release are allegations, and suspects named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law

Schodack State Police Investigate Fatal Accident

Schodack State Police are investigating a one-car motor vehicle accident on State Route 9J in the Town of Schodack that resulted in the death of a woman.

Schodack, NY – April 23, 2012

State Police in Schodack are investigating a one-car fatal accident on State Route 9J in the Town of Schodack. The accident was reported to Rensselaer County 911 at approximately 5:00 AM. State Police responded and located a 2000 GMC pickup into a tree. Investigation revealed the vehicle was headed south on 9J and left the roadway via the west shoulder. The passenger was deceased upon arrival and the operator was taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The operator was charged with Driving While Intoxicated. Further charges are pending.

SP Jamestown – Randolph woman arrested following motor vehicle accident

On March 6th, 2012, Trooper ROBERT MORRIS arrested BRIDGET BARDO, 29, of Randolph, for Driving While Intoxicated. Trooper MORRIS responded to a property damage accident on Interstate 86 in the Town of Poland. Investigation revealed that BARDO had left the roadway and crashed into a guardrail. BARDO was placed under arrest after failing several field sobriety tests and transported to SP Jamestown where she provided a breath sample of .11. BARDO was then processed, issued tickets returnable to the Town of Poland Court, and turned over to a sober individual.

****AMENDED**** CCSO and NYSP are investigating a three car personal injury accident that happened on Route 60 in the Town of Charlotte. At approximately 1410 hrs two vehicles were traveling northbound on SR­60. The first of the vehicles, a minivan driven by Joel A Marsh, age 48, of Charlotte NY began to slow in order to make a left turn into a driveway. Phillip Anderson, age 21, of Jamestown NY, operator of the second vehicle, failed to observe the stopped minivan, and subsequently struck the vehicle from behind. The impact of the collision forced Marsh’s vehicle into the path of a southbound tractor trailer driven by Thomas J. Uebelhoer, age 58 of Attica NY. The minivan struck the rear of the tractor trailer, causing extensive damage to both vehicles. Both Joel A Marsh and his passenger, JoAnn Marsh, age 48, were flown to ECMC for evaluation. Anderson was taken to WCA via ambulance, where he was treated and released. The tractor trailer driver was uninjured. Anderson was issued a traffic citation, and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Both the driver and passenger of the first vehicle were flown to ECMC for evaluation. Driver of the second vehicle was taken to WCA, and the tractor trailer driver was uninjured. The investigation is ongoing, and names are being withheld as a result. Charges are pending.

One car motor vehicle accident in Gorham sends Branchport woman to hospital

On 02-12-12 at 3:37pm, Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a one car motor vehicle accident on Kearney Road in Gorham NY. Margaret R. Lewis, age 63, of Branchport NY, was operating a 2004 Cadillac southbound on Kearney Road. She lost control while attempting to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Gorham Fire  and Stanley Ambulance responded. Margaret Lewis was transported by Stanley Ambulance to F.F. Thompson Hospital to be checked over. No citations were issued.

SP Highland investigates a one car fatal motor vehicle accident

Town of Esopus, NY - February 2, 2012
 State Police at Highland are currently investigating a one car fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Town of Esopus, NY. At approximately 9:15am State Police Highland patrols responded to a 911 poll for a rollover motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of State Route 9W and Burroughs Rd. The initial investigation revealed a 2004 Cadillac, operated by DANIEL HUGHES, age 21, of Highland, NY was traveling northbound on State Route 9W and lost control while passing an uninvolved vehicle. After losing control, the vehicle crossed the southbound lane striking an earth embankment and came to rest on the driver’s side.  Hughes, who was wearing a seatbelt, was extricated and transported to St Francis Hospital where he later expired as a result of his injuries. Troop F Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and is reconstructing the accident. Anyone who may have witnessed this accident is asked to call the State Police at Highland – (845) 691-2922.
