One car motor vehicle accident in Gorham sends Branchport woman to hospital

On 02-12-12 at 3:37pm, Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a one car motor vehicle accident on Kearney Road in Gorham NY. Margaret R. Lewis, age 63, of Branchport NY, was operating a 2004 Cadillac southbound on Kearney Road. She lost control while attempting to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Gorham Fire  and Stanley Ambulance responded. Margaret Lewis was transported by Stanley Ambulance to F.F. Thompson Hospital to be checked over. No citations were issued.

SP Highland investigates a one car fatal motor vehicle accident

Town of Esopus, NY - February 2, 2012
 State Police at Highland are currently investigating a one car fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Town of Esopus, NY. At approximately 9:15am State Police Highland patrols responded to a 911 poll for a rollover motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of State Route 9W and Burroughs Rd. The initial investigation revealed a 2004 Cadillac, operated by DANIEL HUGHES, age 21, of Highland, NY was traveling northbound on State Route 9W and lost control while passing an uninvolved vehicle. After losing control, the vehicle crossed the southbound lane striking an earth embankment and came to rest on the driver’s side.  Hughes, who was wearing a seatbelt, was extricated and transported to St Francis Hospital where he later expired as a result of his injuries. Troop F Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and is reconstructing the accident. Anyone who may have witnessed this accident is asked to call the State Police at Highland – (845) 691-2922.

Hallstead Pennsylvania Resident Arrested For DWI

(Binghamton, NY – February 1, 2012) On January 31, 2012, SP Binghamton Troopers arrested James J. Kerper, 73, of Halstead, PA, for Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .08 %. The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle accident on Brinkman Road in Binghamton, NY. Mr. Kerper was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Binghamton Court on February 6, 2012.

One injured in three vehicle accident in Lysander

(Lysander, NY – January 27, 2012)
           State Police in Lysander are investigating a three vehicle accident in the Town of Lysander that resulted in one injury.
            At 6:45 PM, a 2007 Hyundai being driven by Kristina M. Litalien of Baldwinsville was traveling northbound on East Mud Lake Road in the town of Lysander when she failed to yield the right-of-way at the stop sign to a 2001 Dodge pickup truck that was traveling eastbound on Lamson Road. The resulting collision between the two vehicles spun the Hyundai into a third vehicle, a 2002 Buick, which had been westbound on Lamson Road. The driver of the Hyundai was transported via ambulance to Upstate University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

3 car motor vehicle accident on STHWY 20 A in the Town of Geneseo

	Livingston County Sheriff John M. York advises that Sheriff
         Deputies responded to a 3 car motor vehicle accident  on STHWY 20
         A in the Town of Geneseo at 6:08 pm. Two of the vehicles did
         collide head on causing major damage to vehicles and 4 subjects
         being transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with injuries.

	A Derek Parke, age 25 of Pike, Ny was operating his vehicle  when
         another vehicle operated by a Jeremy Benson, age 32  of Johnston,
         Rhode Island crossed the center line and collided head on with
         Parkes' vehicle. Vehicle operated by Parke's contained 2
         passengers who both had injuries that appeared to be non-life
         threatening. Derek Parke and Jeremy Benson were also transported
         to Strong for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
         The operator of the third vehicle was not injured during this
         accident. Jeremy Benson was issued summons for failure to keep
         right.

	.Investigation was conducted by Major Smith, Sgt. Zambito, Deputy
         Orman, Deputy Schroeder and Deputy VanAuken of the Livingston
         County Sheriff Office. Assisting on scene was Geneseo Fire Dept.,
         Geneseo Ambulance, Livonia Ambulance , Livonia ALS, Medic 74 and
         Livingston County ALS

Cheektowaga, NY – 4 vehicle accident on I-90

January 09, 2012 – Cheektowaga, NY

The New York State Police out of the SP Buffalo station responded to a four vehicle accident on I-90 eastbound in the Town of Cheektowaga at approximately 1:22PM. The vehicles involved were two passenger vehicles, a single unit straight truck, and a tandem tractor trailer. There were minor injuries only involved in this accident with one person being taken to ECMC. The leftmost lane of I-90 was blocked for approximately ½ hour while the accident was investigated and the vehicles were cleared from the scene.
Vehicle 3 was slowing for traffic when vehicle 2 (the single unit straight truck) struck it from behindand pushed vehicle 3 into vehicle 4. A tandem tractor trailer (vehicle 1) was unable to stop in time and struck vehicle 2 from behind.

Town of Ostelic resident charged with Driving While Ability Impaired

 On December 17, 2011 around 4:01 am a Town of Otselic, New York resident was arrested by the Chenango County Sheriffs Office for Driving While Ability Impaired.
Deputy Palmatier responded to State Highway 26, in the town of Otselic to a motor vehicle accident. During the motor vehicle accident investigation it was determined Tyler C. Davis (age 20) drove his vehicle while his ability was impaired by alcohol.
Davis was released to a  sober third party.
Arrested – Tyler C. Davis age 20 of Otselic, NY
Charges – DWAI.
All crimes described in this press release are allegations, and suspects named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
