Tractor Trailer accident in Dansville’s Travel Center of America
February 6, 2012 North Dansville: Sheriff John M. York advises that today deputies investigated a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer truck that occured at the Travel Centers of America located off of exit 5 in the Town of North Dansville. 57 year old Igor Yurkevich of Fairport, NY was operating a tractor trailer truck in the parking lot at the truck stop when he pulled away from the diesel pumps and struck another parked and unoccupied tractor trailer causing damage to both. It appeared that the driver, Mr. Yurkevish, suffered a medical condition which caused the accident. The Dansville Fire Department and Ambulance were on scene to render medical attention. He was taken by Dansville Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. The truck he was operating is owned by Upstate Trucking in Rochester, NY and the truck that he struck is owned by Tallman Transport of Ontario Canada. Deputy Ryan Swanson, ID Technician - Deputy Michael Williams, Sgt. Michael Dougherty, Major Christopher Smith, and Under Sheriff James Szczesniak handled the investigation.
